Last updated: June 2025. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using PawLocal. By registering an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use PawLocal.
PawLocal is an online marketplace that connects dog owners ('Owners') with independent dog walkers and pet sitters ('Walkers'). PawLocal acts as an intermediary platform only. We are not a party to any service agreement between Owners and Walkers, and we do not employ Walkers. All pet care services are provided independently by Walkers.
You must be at least 18 years old to register on PawLocal. By creating an account, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete and up to date. PawLocal reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false or misleading information.
Walkers must: (a) provide accurate information about their experience, qualifications and insurance status; (b) hold adequate pet care public liability insurance and keep it current; (c) comply with all applicable UK laws, including animal welfare legislation; (d) only accept bookings they are genuinely able to fulfil safely and professionally; (e) act in the best interests of the animals in their care at all times.
Owners must: (a) provide accurate and complete information about their dogs, including any health conditions, behavioural traits or special needs; (b) ensure their dogs are up to date on required vaccinations; (c) provide emergency contact details and vet information for their dogs; (d) choose Walkers based on their own assessment of suitability. PawLocal does not guarantee the suitability of any Walker for any particular dog.
Booking requests are submitted through the PawLocal platform. A booking is confirmed once the Walker accepts and payment is processed. Owners and Walkers are responsible for agreeing any specific terms for each booking. Cancellation policies may vary and any disputes regarding cancellations should be resolved directly between the parties. PawLocal does not guarantee refunds in the event of cancellation.
All payments are processed through our secure payment provider. PawLocal retains a service fee from each booking to support platform costs, secure payments, customer support and marketing, and a small service fee is added to the customer's total at checkout. Specific fee amounts are displayed at checkout. Walker payouts are processed weekly following the completion of a booking. PawLocal reserves the right to amend fee structures with reasonable notice.
PawLocal operates a staged verification process. Walkers and sitters can create an account and build a profile without first obtaining insurance or completing a DBS check. Identity, DBS and insurance verification are completed separately, and the status of each is shown on the provider's profile. Depending on PawLocal's current policy, certain verification steps must be completed before a provider can accept bookings. PawLocal does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy of any documents submitted, and Owners are encouraged to carry out their own checks before proceeding with a booking.
PawLocal is a marketplace platform and does not directly provide pet care services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PawLocal shall not be liable for: (a) any injury, illness or death of any animal; (b) loss or damage to property; (c) any act or omission of a Walker or Owner; (d) any indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.
All content, design, logos and software on PawLocal are the property of PawLocal or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the platform without prior written consent.
PawLocal may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, act in a way that is harmful to the community, or if required by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting pawlocalinfo@yahoo.com.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes where possible. Continued use of PawLocal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For questions, contact us at pawlocalinfo@yahoo.com.
